The Sims 4 has had a problem with babies ever since it first released. At long last, EA has finally delivered. The Sims 4 infants update is here today and it brings with it vital upgrades on the early life stages in the game.
Previously, a baby in The Sims 4 was no more than an object, something you couldn't interact with until they reached their second life stage: Toddler. Now, thanks to the update, the brand-new infant life stage has been introduced.

You will be able to pick up your infants, play with them, feed them, and more. Infants are even fully customisable in Create a Sim. This is a massive update that should make the free to play game even better.

When is The Sims 4 Infants update release date?
The Sims 4 infants update is out today, 14th March 2023. After its initial reveal in 2022, better babies are finally a reality in The Sims 4 and infants won't just be inanimate objects until they're a toddler any more.
What is The Sims 4 Infants update release time in the UK?
The Sims 4 infants update release time in the UK is 5pm today, 14th March 2023. Simply get the update installed and downloaded from 5pm to start creating and playing with the new infant life stage in The Sims 4.
What does the Infants update change in The Sims 4?
Following the infants update, babies in The Sims 4 will no longer be confined to their bassinets and will now move around. This means that babies will count as people in The Sims 4 following the update, not mere objects.
The brand new infant life stage is the second in the game, and The Sims 4 is finally making the most of those early years. Remember they will be a baby/newborn before being an infant!
You will be able to fully interact with infants in The Sims 4 following the update. You can pick them up, feed and breastfeed them, play with them, and even bathe them. Inanimate objects, these infants are most certainly not.
Even better, infants are fully customisable in Create a Sim. There are a load of clothing options to go along with the more detailed character creator tool, which includes birthmarks and Traits. The infant traits are Calm, Cautious, Intense, Sensitive, Sunny, and Wiggly.
Following the update, you can also make 'Science Babies'. These Science Babies mean any Sim of any gender or sexuality can have a baby. Be warned, there will be no waiting period for Science Babies, they arrive right away.
